Ms. Kati Karvinen launched the AnnKai fashion store and webshop on Kluuvikatu 3, Helsinki in summer 2019. With her own style and insight she is following the footsteps of her mother, the famous and awarded textile artist Annikki Karvinen. The bright and beautiful store interior is pure white, so that the colorful clothes can stand out in the best possible way.
The name of the store, AnnKai, dates back to Kati´s childhood in Jyväskylä, central Finland. Kati´s full first name is Anna-Katri. Her father lovingly invented a shorter version of that and that´s how AnnKai was created, as a cuddly nickname. Kati wanted to honor the memory of her late father by naming the store after his play with words. Kati is permanently living in Hamburg, Germany, where she has had her own store already for over two decades. She also has a second store in Keitum, Sylt, which is a well-known holiday island on the Northern coast of Germany.

AnnKai store presents a wide selection of clothes, accessories and jewerly for women who value individual style. The sets are small emphasizing unique style. Colors and especially bright and strong basic colors play an important role in Kati Karvinen´s design. The Karvinen collection has always been known for strong colors; in her long career,Annikki Karvinen was a pioneer in using and creating bold color combinations in her designs.
Kati´s style is graphic and clear. The corner stones of her design are stripes, clear prints and timeless patterns. For her, it is very important that all the pieces in her collections are easy and comfortable to wear
Timeless and high-quality clothing
The timeless designs are almost always made of high-quality natural fibers which are easy to clean, The products are, as far as possible, wearable during all year. Strong colors and bold femininity are hallmarks of Kati´s designs, combined with love for Finnish nature and changing seasons.
Sustainability is a strong value in all operations, from choosing the fabrics to sewing the garments. Business partners and suppliers are small entrepreneurs and many are family businesses with long traditions. Fabrics are mostly bought from European manufacturers. KARVINEN brand clothing is designed in Finland and produced in Tallinn, Estonia. The KARVINEN knitwear collection is made in Finland by a local knitwear manufacturer.
The KARVINEN-collection covers about 50 percent of the store´s selection. The other half consists of small, exciting European brands which clearly differ from mainstreet presentation. They are bought in small sets and with sole rights for AnnKai store. Please click the Gallery for more information.
